This TED talk is one of the funnier ones I’ve seen. I love how in depth and personal he gets when describing the different pieces of artwork - all of which he created himself from made-up characters.
My next upcoming show is going to be the Etsy Dallas Spring Bash. These shows are always a lot of fun - it’s a party you can shop at! They usually have make and take projects that are kid friendly, and they often have a silly photo booth where you can get your photo taken. I hope to see you there!
The Cave of Crystals near Chihuahua, Mexico.
Those giant crystals of gypsum (CaSO4) probably grew to their massive size really slowly in a bath of hot water and dissolved minerals. Now that the water has been pumped out by industrial miners, scientists are free to explore…with the help of some ice-cooled orange jumpsuits: The caves average a termperature of 118 F, and 90 % humidity.
Beautiful photos! This looks like something straight out of a science fiction movie.
I recently finished on of the biggest projects I’ve been working on for a long time. I had a commission for a wedding and engagement band based on some inspiration photos the customer had sent me and using stones she picked out. It was quite a challenge, one of those projects that seems to fight you every step of the way. While I was working on it I kept thinking I never wanted to do another project like it again. But now, after seeing how happy the customer was when she saw her wedding band set, I might change my mind. You can see more photos of the finished rings along with a lot of in progress shots in my flickr set: Studio.
We took a photo of Astra with the Bishop Arts Camera we found by the Soda Gallery. She was so well behaved at the show, everyone was impressed! If you want to learn more about Shilohs and our local breeder, check out their website at Sparta Shilohs.
The Dallas Urban Street Bazaar is back baby! I’m super excited about this because it’s an outdoor show and we’ll be bringing our big puppy Astra to the show with us! She turned 1 year old this month and we want her to meet lots of new people and other dogs. We hope you can come see us and say hello to Astra!
I love these photo transfers on wood. It looks like such a simple project!
Laser printer + gel medium = these Instagrams awesomely transferred onto wood!
DIY: Transfer Your Fave (Phone) Photos Onto Wood
Handy tips for doing transfers using your phoneographs:
- Get an app like the Dropbox app (for iPhone and Android) to easily get your photos from your phone to a computer.
- Use a photo-editing program to set your phone photo to 300 DPI so that it’s print quality and won’t print out all pixelated.
In case you were wondering, the BBC-approved Tardis blue is actually Pantone 2955C.
You’re welcome.
This will come in handy someday… Perhaps on Halloween?
